In 1940, Marshall found himself headed to the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut, to defend one Joseph Spell (Sterling K. Brown).
Spell was a black chauffeur accused of raping, kidnapping, and attempting to murder his employer?s wife Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson), a Greenwich socialite.
Critics gave the film an average of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Screenrant gave the movie three and a half out of five stars.
