According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has signed a content deal with filmmaker Steven Spielberg?s Amblin Television, in partnership with Comcast?s NBCUniversal TV Studios. The deal will include a reboot of "Amazing Stories," the science fiction and horror anthology series that ran on NBC in the 1980s and was created by Spielberg. Under the partnership, the series will get a 10 episode order, with a budget reported at more than $5 million an episode. The agreement represents a concerted attempt by Apple to create its own original video content, diving deeper into a field which includes Netflix and Amazon.
