In a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter published Tuesday, director Martin Scorsese criticized popular film review website Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences use the site to see if a movie is getting "fresh" reviews from critics or "rotten" ones. Scorsese says it has "set a tone that is hostile to serious filmmakers." He wrote, "They rate a picture the way you?d rate a horse at the racetrack, a restaurant in a Zagat?s guide, or a household appliance in Consumer Reports.
