Universal has announced that the ninth installment in the fast and the furious franchise has been postponed exactly one year and will now be released April 19, 2020. They gave no reasoning behind the push. However, Tyrese Gibson has had some choice words to share with Dwayne ?the rock?? Johnson, blaming him for the delay in production. Gibson does not seem happy that Johnson is in talks of a spin off feature of his Fast and the furious character, Luke Hobbs. This isn't the first time drama has erupted between the stars of the franchise.
