the live action movie of beauty and the beast was a beautiful remake of the animated original movie. The movie ended up making over 1.2 billion dollars in the box office, and part of the success was due to the amazing cast. Luke Evans did an amazing job as Gaston, but in a recent interview for PEOPLE magazine Idris Elba revealed that he auditioned for the role. he is quoted saying, ?I honestly love musicals. I auditioned for Beauty and the Beast. I really did, for Gaston. I called and said, ?Listen, I want in!? So somewhere they have a tape of me singing.?
