Osar-winning screenwriter and playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney is collaborating with Disney on an upcoming musical project titled "Cyrano the Moor," in which David Oyelowo is set to star. McCraney won the Academy Award earlier this year for Best Picture Oscar-winning film "Moonlight," which was based on one of McCraney?s plays. "Cyrano the Moor" borrows elements from two classic plays, Edmond Rostand?s "Cyrano de Bergerac" and William Shakespeare?s "Othello." Oyelowo just finished portraying Othello in a limited off-Broadway production of the play at the New York Theatre Workshop, opposite Daniel Craig. "Cyrano the Moor" has yet to hire a director.
