According to Italy's Interior Ministry, British actor Colin Firth has officially become an Italian citizen. The actor chose to get this citizenship after Britain's decision to quit the European Union. Why Italy? The Interior Ministry explained in a statement , saying the actor not only was married to a citizen of Italy, Livia Giuggioli, but that he also has declared his love for the country. Fortunately for Firth, Italy is one of he countries that allow dual citizenship. Therefore, Firth did not have to give up his British citizenship to become and Italian citizen.
