Channel 24 reports that actor Tom Cruise is among other crew members being blamed by the families of two pilots who died and one who was injured, on the set of the film, American Made, in 2015. Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl were hired to fly a twin-engine Piper Smith Aerostar 600 plane in Columbia, which tragically crashed, killing them and paralyzing a third pilot, Jimmy Lee Garland. Court documents allege that Alan voiced his concern to producers about the danger of the shoot, prior to his plane going down. According to Channel 24, the families say that Cruise could have stepped in to fly the plane. Family of the perished pilots are suing both the film producers and entertainment companies.
