After winning the top Emmy award for best drama series with "The Handmaid's Tale," Hulu has announced that actor Sean Penn has signed on to star in a new original series for the streaming service. Penn's "first foray into television" will be in the upcoming drama series, "The First." Hulu said in a press release that the show will follow "the first human mission to Mars, exploring the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization."The show is slated to premiere on Hulu in 2018. The Oscar-winner's last film appearance was a voiceover role in "The Angry Birds Movie."
