According to reports, Warner Bros negotiating with 'Thor: Ragnarok' director Taika Waititi to helm a live-action adaptation of the classic Japanese comic 'Akira'. The film has been a big priority since Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures acquired the comic's rights for over seven figures from publisher Kodansha. 'Akira', which consists of six novels, takes place in a futuristic and rebuilt New Manhattan where a leader of a biker gang saves his friend from a medical experiment.? Reports add that Warner Bros.? current plan for the project is to split the cyberpunk manga into two films, with each movie adapting three books in the series.
