Everybody knew that the Emmys would get political this year, but most of us didn?t expect an actual former political figure to make an appearance. During Stephen Colbert?s opening monologue, a surprise guest showed up on stage with his podium in tow. Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was there to comment on the size of the Emmys audience compared to the size of Donald Trump?s inauguration crowd. ?That really soothes my fragile ego,? Colbert responded.
