VIDEO : Jared Leto Blinded Himself To Get Into Character For Blade Runner 2049

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, actor Jared Leto revealed how he decided to prepare himself for playing the vision impaired villain in the much anticipated Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049. Throughout his career, Leto has been known to go to extremes in order to get into character, most famously on the set of Suicide Squad for his portrayal of the Joker. However, in preparation for playing blind bad guy Niander Wallace in the followup to Ridley Scott's legendary 1982 film, Leto wore special contact lenses that rendered him completely blind for the shoot. The actor?s dedication reportedly impressed director Denis Villeneuve, who believes that Leto?s ?insane? choices created something special for the film.
