Ratched, a prequel series revolving around Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest from exec producer Ryan Murphy, has landed at Netflix with a two-season, 18-episode order.
The drama, with Emmy winner Sarah Paulson set to take on the role of Nurse Ratched, landed at Netflix following a competitive bidding process with Apple and Hulu among the bidders.
The series hails from Fox 21 Television Studios (where Murphy is under a rich overall deal) and counts Michael Douglas ? who produced the original movie ? as an exec producer. Production will begin in the middle of 2018 with Murphy directing the pilot.
