Doctor Who fans received a surprise announcement earlier this summer when Jodie Whittaker was named the show's Thirteenth Doctor. In response to the offer, Whittaker says she experienced a range of emotions, saying, "As a young girl, I did not think that 'Time Lord' would ever be on my CV." Whittaker will be the show's first female doctor and she says that since she's the first, it "was the most freeing experience because there's no right or wrong way to do it. The rules went out the window."
