VIDEO : Thor's Tessa Thompson Explains Why She hates the word 'badass'

Actress Tessa Thompson, who stars in the upcoming film Thor: Ragnarok, recently talked about writing, with the LA. Times. She explained that she hates when male writers use the term "badass" to describe a woman in a script. She says, "It's a dumb male writer's way of saying ... uh, she's tough ... and she's sexy." Tessa says that it put women playing superheroes in an uncomfortable position ?the pressure is to act strong and fierce, yet sexy. Comicbook.com says that Wonder Woman director, Patty Jenkins agrees. She reportedly said, "It was my duty to say being badass doesn't mean (Wonder Woman is) not loving, funny, warm, all those things."
