Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise was recently injured, but Screen Rant reports that the highly anticipated sequel is still on track. Reports say that Cruise, who reportedly enjoys doing his own stunts, broke his right ankle after jumping from a building while shooting Mission Impossible 6 in London. He's scheduled to film Maverick next? in January or February of 2018. While Cruise heals, Screen Rant adds that a new writer will fine tune Top Gun: Maverick's script. Reports say that Eric Warren, who also penned American Hustle and Only the Brave will write Top Gun 2.
