DC Films isn?t keeping quiet about its ambitious film slate. A series of new movies have already been added to the studio?s line-up this year, but it looks like Joss Whedon is the only reason DC Films green-lit a standalone Batgirl movie. According to a new report by Variety, DC Films didn?t even have Batgirl on its radar before Whedon approached the studio. Warner Bros. wasn?t considering a movie about the heroine ?until Whedon confessed to his love of Barbara Gordon and her masked alter ego.? The director convinced the studio with his Batgirl pitch, and Whedon is developing the film while also working on Justice League?s reshoots.
