VIDEO : 'Death Note's Lakeith Stanfield Tells Martin Scorsese He Wants To Play The Joker

While the recently announced origin move for the Joker is still in the early stages of development, one actor from Netflix's adaptation of Death Note has already volunteered to play the role. Lakeith Stanfield, who plays L in Netflix's live-action remake of the popular anime series, recently tweeted his interest in the role. Stanfield said simply, "Scorsese I'd like to play the Joker." The Joker origin film - which is reportedly separate from Warner Bros. current DC Extended Universe, has largely been a mystery since it was announced earlier this week. The film will reportedly be set in the 80s and have a dark, gritty tone, similar to some of Scorsese's past films.
