Actor Orlando Bloom is set to star in a new series from Amazon Studios called 'Carnival Row'. The show, which received a straight-to-series order, is described as a ?fantasy noir set in a neo-Victorian city." In addition to starring in the show, Bloom will also serve as an Executive Producer. On the program, whose first season will consist of 8 episodes, the former 'Lord of the Rings' star will play a character named Rycroft Philostrate, ?a police inspector who risks everything to solve the murder of a faerie showgirl on the titular Carnival Row.? Production for 'Carnival Row's' first season will begin in two months, ahead of a 2019 premiere.
