James Cameron recently sat down with the Guardian to discuss the future of "Avatar," his hit movie franchise, and "Wonder Woman" came up in the conversation. The famed director took the opportunity to slam the praise the film has received. He said, ?All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood?s been doing over Wonder Woman has been so misguided. She?s an objectified icon, and it?s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing." He then compared the character of Diana to a character of his own creation, Sarah Connor, from the 'Terminator' franchise, saying, ?Sarah Connor was not a beauty icon. She was strong, she was troubled, she was a terrible mother, and she earned the respect of the audience through pure grit." "Wonder Woman" has broken box office records to become the highest-grossing superhero origin film of all-time.
