Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is reportedly in the final stages of reaching a deal with Warner Brothers to return for the sequel in exchange for the highest payday of any female director in Hollywood. The first film quickly became the best-reviewed superhero movie, before it sailed past Batman v Superman at the domestic box office, and finally became the highest-grossing film ever directed by a woman. According to a report from Deadline, "Although no payday was revealed, we understand that her payday and deal is in line with any other director who has performed at this level." Wonder Woman may not only push the needle in Hollywood towards more female-led action films, but also stand as a historic moment for women working behind the camera as well.
