Celebrity in this news:

The violence and hatred displayed in Charlottesville, Virginia, this past weekend affected all of America - including Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee, who has since issued a profound statement on racism and intolerance. To be more accurate, Lee re-issued a statement on racism and intolerance in the wake of Charlottesville - a statement he originally put out way back in 1968, in the "Stan's Soapbox" section of Marvel Comics. "...although anyone has the right to dislike another individual, it's totally irrational, patently insane to condemn an entire race - to despise an entire nation - to vilify an entire religion. Sooner or later, we must learn to judge each other on our own merits." Some cynical readers may point to the history of Lee's comic book creations as basis for hypocrisy on the part of the Marvel Comics icon. However, Marvel Comics continues to entertain readers and fans all over the world - with ever-increasing diversity in its lineup of superheroes.
