Connie Britton will return to TV for the first time since departing the country music drama ?Nashville.? The Emmy Award-nominated actress, also known for her roles in ?Friday Night Lights? and ?American Horror Story,? will have a multi-episode guest starring arc on the upcoming Showtime comedy series ?SMILF.? The half-hour comedy stars Frankie Shaw as a woman named Bridgette from Southie who tries to balance living up her twenties with being a single mother. Britton will play Ally, Bridgette?s unstable boss. Britton starred in 'Nashville' from its beginning on ABC in 2012 until her character was killed in season 5. ?SMILF? premieres November 5 on Showtime, following ?Shameless.?
