VIDEO : Godzilla 2 Director Makes Connection To Original Film

Godzilla 2, tentatively referred to as King of the Monsters,
director Mike Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat) is also teasing a nice Easter egg connection to the original Godzilla movie from 1954.
photo shows what Godzilla fans will recognize as the Oxygen Destroyer from the 1954 film. Developed by the film?s Dr. Serizawa, the device removes oxygen from whatever body of water it is placed in and was used to destroy Godzilla in in the feature.
