After the success of Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming venture with Marvel, the studio is once again attempting to expand the Spider-Man brand into a whole franhise universe, starting with a Venom movie starring Tom Hardy in October 2018. A long-rumored villain for the Venom spinoff film has been Carnage, evil spawn of the Venom symbiote, which becomes attached to a notorious serial killer; now, we might (keyword) know who could be playing Carnage. According to reports, Rouge One: A Star Wars Story star Riz Ahmed is in talks to play Venom's Carnage - but there is an asterisk to those reports, which leave room for doubt.
