Director James Gunn finally reveals the reason why the order of the songs listed on the actual soundtrack is different than the order they are used in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Gunn explained that it is simply different putting the order of the songs in the film than putting them alone in a mixtape. He said if he would put them in the order of the movie the soundtrack would be very "pop-y" in the beginning and then "too dark" in the end. In order to have a better flow of music in the soundtrack mixtape then the songs would have to be done in a different order than shown in the movie.
