According to a recent article by the Hollywood Reporter, Leah Remini is doubling down on her Anti-Scientology Crusade, and even calling for a Federal Investigation into the religion founded by L. Ron Hubbard. The 47-year-old actress and anti-Scientology activist is currently relocating from Los Angeles to the East Coast to join the cast of "Kevin Can Wait," where she will be replacing current female lead, Erinn Hayes, alongside longtime "King of Queens" TV husband Kevin James. Remini will continue to produce and star in the second season of "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath," which premieres August 15th. The A&E documentary series revolves around former Scientologists like Remini, who were shunned and targeted by the church and their own family members, and the program earned Remini her first Emmy nomination for best informational series or special. But Remini, who chronicled her flight from Scientology in 2015's book "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," says the show is about saving people, and that she intends for the series to move into more of an "activist" realm in its sophomore season, meaning she hopes to present enough evidence of criminal wrongdoing to warrant a federal investigation.
