VIDEO : Original Godzilla Actor Passes Away

The King of the Monsters has fallen. Haruo Nakajima, who wore the suit that launched a franchise that has spanned 63 years, passed away yesterday following complications from pneumonia. Nakajima was the first actor to wear the suit of Godzilla when he portrayed the giant lizard in the original film in 1954. The first Godzilla costume weighed 220lbs, but that didn?t deter him from playing the role for the next 18 years, culminating in Godzilla vs. Nakajima also played other movie monsters over the years.
