VIDEO : Michonne Was Almost Played By A Different 'Walking Dead' Actress

"The Walking Dead's" casting director Sharon Bialy revealed that Sonequa Martin-Green originally came out to play the part of the katana-wielding Michonne. When Danai Gurira got the part, the crew wanted to work with Martin-Green so badly, they created a character unique to television who does not exist in the comics. "The producers fell in love with her so much they wrote her character for her," Bialy said. As the story goes, Martin-Green ended up playing a key role herself over more than four years on the AMC series. "The Walking Dead" will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017.
