Female First reports that Alfre Woodard and John Kani have joined the star studded cast of the Lion King. Best known for their roles in Marvel's 'Captain America: Civil War' movie, 64-year-old Woodard will voice Simba's mom, and 73-year-old Kani will play Rafiki, Mufasa's advisor, a quote "wise baboon." With the film set for Summer 2019 release, according to The Hollywood Reporter Disney's reboot of the animated classic will also feature stars like James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen and possibly Beyonce. Female First reports that she is the preferred choice to play 'Nala' in the movie.
