The Despicable Me series has had such success that it has beat the Shrek films as the highest grossing animated franchise worldwide. The first Despicable Me made %541 million against its $69 million budget which then allowed for two sequels to occur afterwards and even a Minions spin off as well. Although most sequels don't do as great as the original for this franchise the ticket sales just kept growing and making its makers more money. Minions did the best out of all of them making $1.158 billion.
