Paramount has announced a release date for the Natalie Portman-led 'Annihilation,' based on the acclaimed sci-fi novel from Jeff VanderMeer. The film will hit theaters February 23, 2018. 'Annihilation' is directed by Ex Machina's Alex Garland, and stars Natalie Portman as a biologist sent on a special mission. Oscar Isaac plays Portman's husband who returns home in a strange condition one year after being sent off on a mysterious mission. The novel Annihilation is the first book in VanderMeer's Southern Reach trilogy which debuted in 2014.
