French Actress Jeanne Moreau died on Monday at age 89.
In an essay for the Hollywood Reporter, film critic Todd McCarthy shared his memories of Moreau, who he met on several occasions.
McCarthy got to know Moreau when he worked foreign acquisitions and publicity for Roger Corman's New World Pictures in the mid-1970s.
He praised Moreau's humility and humanity.
