Following a battle with Lou Gehrig?s disease, actor, writer, and director Sam Shepard has reportedly passed away at the age of 73. Shepard is best known for winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his work in creating 1979's 'Buried Child', a piece of abstract art that portrays disillusionment and the collapse of national mythology in rural America. In addition, Shepard was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards for his role in the 1983 historical drama, The Right Stuff. Most recently, he starred in Netflix's original drama show 'Bloodline'.
