MTV announced the nominations for its 2017 Video Music Awards via Instagram on Tuesday, and Kendrick Lamar has the most nominations of any artist for his video "Humble." Katy Perry and The Weeknd tied for second place both with five nominations each. The network also announced that the former best female video and best male video categories have been combined into one category: "artist of the year." Nominees for Video of the Year include Lamar, Bruno Mars, Alessia Cara, DJ Khaled and Rihanna, and The Weeknd. The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 27th.
