Anne Hathaway is in negotiations to star in Sony?s upcoming ?Barbie? film with Alethea Jones in talks to direct, TheWrap has learned. Based on the famous doll line, the film is currently slated for a June 29, 2018, release and is produced by Amy Pascal, Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. Kim Caramele and Diablo Cody share writing credit on the screenplay, and Jones is considered the frontrunner to direct. Amy Schumer was previously attached to the project, but later dropped out.
