Reports say that when Sean Spicer announced his resignation as White House press secretary on Friday morning, Twitter lit up. ET says that it didn't take long for commentary to roll in from Melissa McCarthy's fans. They say the comedian debuted her popular Spicer impression on Saturday Night Live in February, reprising it at least four times. In a collection of Tweets gathered by ET, McCarthy fans admitted that SNL would no longer need the funny skits, but that they'd miss them. One fan wrote,
"Congratulations to Sean Spicer and condolences to Melissa McCarthy." Another tweet said, "How DARE Sean Spicer deny us 3.5 more years of Melissa McCarthy as #Spicy." Another Twitter user added, "I would give anything to see Melissa McCarthy replace Sean Spicer."
