VIDEO : 'The Originals' to End After Five Seasons

According to its showrunner, The Vampire Diaries spin-off 'The Originals' will end after its fifth season. On Wednesday in an announcement on Twitter, Julie Plec said that the vampire drama will be coming to an end after this past seasons dramatic conclusion. The program's star, actor Joseph Morgan, also confirmed the end of the show on Twitter this week, writing to fans of the show, "Thanks for your undying support & I hope you'll keep the darkest corner of your heart reserved for us." The Originals will return to The CW for its fifth and final season sometime in 2018.
