With the ending of 'Game of Thrones' on the horizon, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have reportedly begun planning their next project with HBO. According to The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday, the duo will re-team with the network for the drama series 'Confederate'. According to a synopsis, 'Confederate' takes place in an alternate timeline, where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation where slavery remains legal. In a statement Benioff and Weiss said, "We have discussed Confederate for years, originally as a concept for a feature film. But our experience on ?Thrones? has convinced us that no one provides a bigger, better storytelling canvas than HBO."
