At the D23 fan expo in Anaheim, California, Walt Disney Studios confirmed the actor has been cast as the beloved Genie in their live- action remake of Aladdin. Jada was a guest on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, taking the time to share her excitement stating, "He's playing a big 'ol Genie," then turning to the audience to exclaim once more, "He's playing the Genie!" Recalling a conversation she had with Will when they first received the news, she said, "...you know what I had to tell him? I said, 'You know, this is perfect for you because you?re always creating magic.'"
