It has been announced that Starz will be producing a fictional drama TV series that depicts Mariah Carey?s journey to becoming famous. They will start her story in 1986 and according to the filmmakers, the film will ?[chronicle] the rise of an ambitious bi-racial 16-year-old girl, an aspiring singer-songwriter who survived a difficult childhood to become the biggest selling female music artist of all time.? The film is being produced by Brett Ratner, Stella Bulochnikov, Teri Weinberg, and John Cheng, and it is being written by Nina Coleman.
