Steve Whitmire, the long-time voice of Kermit the Frog for the Muppets, was fired over "repeated unacceptable business conduct" over "a period of many years," in the studio's words. The statement given to the Associated Press claims that the 57-year-old puppetteer "consistently failed to address" the issue. Lisa Henson, daughter of The Muppets founder Jim Henson, told The New York Times that she supports the studio's decision to fire Whitmire.
