VIDEO : 'War For The Planet Of The Apes' Outgrosses Predecessor

The third installment in the rebooted Planet of the Apes trilogy, War for the Planet of the Apes, did well at the box office at Thursday night preview screenings, outgrossing its predecessor. Apes has received positive reviews with many critics in agreement that it's a captivating ending to Caesar's story. Variety magazine reported that Apes brought in $5 million on Thursday, well above what Fox was expecting the the film to make. When its predecessor Dawn opened in 2014 it earned $4.1 million on opening night.
