VIDEO : Dave Eggers Writes Young Adult Novel 'The Lifters'

Dave-Eggers/'> Dave Eggers is branching out to a younger crowd with his new novel, "The Lifters." The fantasy novel was written for midle-schoolers and it's the first in a two-book deal with Alfred A. Knopf. The novel includes illustrations from brothers Eric and Terry Fan and it tells the story of boy named Granite and a girl named Catalina who are introduced to a strange world through a magic door. In a statement Eggers said, "'The Lifters' has been on my mind for almost 10 years."
