On the very last day of Pride Month, Amy Poehler's Smart Girls published an essay by "Parks and Recreation" actress Natalie Morales in which she comes out as queer. In her essay, Morales talks about growing up queer, and how she's been supporting LGBTQIA rights since she was a small child. Morales wrote that when she was younger she felt shame for her identity but as she grew older she accepted who she was and has been in relationships with people of all genders. She addressed her fans by saying, "I think it?s important that I tell you that this familiar face you see on your TV is the Q part of LGBTQ, so that if you didn?t know someone who was queer before, you do now."
