VIDEO : Matthew Modine Auctioning Personal Set Photos From 'Full Metal Jacket'

Matthew Modine, who played the lead role of Pvt. Joker, is auctioning a dozen of his personal behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the classic Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Purple Heart Foundation, which aids veterans, especially those wounded in combat. Online auctioneers Paddle8 is hosting the sale and bidding runs from June 26-July 11. Modine got a Rolleiflex camera as a present from a friend and decided document the nearly two-year long making of the classic movie, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Director Stanley Kubrick, usually known for keeping a tight lid on his sets, allowed Modine pretty free reign.
