J.K. Rowling is thanking fans around the world for 20 years of Harry Potter. The child magician took the world by storm with the release of the first book: Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, becoming not only one of the most successful books of all time but one of the most successful books ever. Rowling's success only continued to grow with the release of six more books and a franchise of film adaptations. To mark the 20th anniversary of the first book's release, Rowling took to her Twitter account to write, "20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others. It's been wonderful. Thank you."
