On Tuesday, a spokesman for Daniel Day-Lewis has said that the three-time Oscar winner is retiring from acting. Day-Lewis, the only man to have won three lead actor Oscars, gave no reason for his decision, calling it private. In a statement, his publicist, Leslee Dart said "Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years." Day-Lewis would end a storied career, with renown performances in "Lincoln" and "Gangs of New York."
