Batman Returns is celebrating its 25th anniversary and recently Michael Keaton and screenwriter Daniel Waters revealed that Batman was originally going to be a lot more talkative. According to Keaton and Waters, at Keaton's request more than half of Batman's dialogue in Batman Returns was cut from the script. Keaton wanted to have as little dialogue as possible when wearing the batsuit. Waters told The Hollywood Reporter, "When I saw the final film, I realized he was exactly right."
