VIDEO : Elizabeth Banks Issues Apology to Steven Spielberg

On Thursday, actress Elizabeth Banks issued an apology to director Steven Spielberg after she incorrectly stated he had "never made a movie with a female lead." During the 'Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards' earlier in the week, Banks expressed her frustration with the lack of female stories on the big screen, even going as far as to call out Spielberg by name. Following backlash on social media, Banks apologized Thursday to the director, saying, "When referring to Steven Spielberg at the Women in Film Awards, I framed my comments about his films inaccurately. I want to be clear from the start that I take full responsibility for what I said and I'm sorry."
